Grass with Irrigation <br />Staff requested quotes for a professionally installed irrigation system for City Hallgrass <br />areas including the boulevard (Zone 1) as well as Zones 2 & 3. <br />The cost for irrigationof all three zones would be $29,000. <br />If only Zone 1 (boulevard) was to be completed, the cost would be $17,000. <br />The cost for sod in the boulevard (Zone 1) would be $1,100 plus staff time to install. <br />Staff Recommendation <br />Staff is recommending the installation of sod and an irrigation system for Zone 1 at a <br />total cost of $18,100. The system would be set up for expansion to Zones 2 and 3 in the <br />future. It should be noted that the cost to expand in the future will likely be more than the <br />differential in the two quotes, simply due to remobilization and the inefficiency of two <br />projects vs. one. <br />FRONT WALKWAY HANDRAIL <br />In an effort to improve the safety and accessibility of City Hall, staff has been looking at <br />options for the addition of a handrail along the walkway from the parking lot to the front <br />door. Many of our residents and those that visit City Hall, are elderly or otherwise have <br />mobility issues. A rail along the walkway provides an opportunity for added stability, <br />especially during the winter months. It is important to note that the existing walkway <br />meets ADA requirements and there is noregulation requiring a handrail. <br /> <br />
