<br />City of Centerville <br />Parks & Recreation Meeting Minutes <br />May 1, 2024 <br />3. Flowerpot Tree – Cornerstone Park <br /> <br />This item was discussed under III. Appearances, paragraph 5. This item will be placed on the <br />agenda for June. <br /> <br />4. Main Street Market Sign <br /> <br />There was previous discussion to have a sign made that would be like the “Home of the Bald Eagle <br />Waterski Club” for the Main Street Market. The fee for vendors has been increased by $5.per <br />event to allow for the purchase of the sign. Ms. Angela Conley has requested that this sign be <br />installed this year prior to the event commencing. <br /> <br />Motion made by Committee Member Errickson, seconded by Committee Member Seeley to <br />recommend to City Council to purchase (not to exceed $300) and have installed a “Home of <br />the Main Street Market” sign at the corner of Centerville Road and Mainstreet on city <br />property. All in favor. Motion carried. <br /> <br />5. 4-Imprint Marketing Items & Volunteer Appreciation Items <br /> <br />Several items were presented for consideration as a thank you gift for the volunteers and as <br />giveaways to attendees at Music in the Park and/or Main Street Market. A Kodak 2.5L Dry Bag <br />was selected as the Volunteer Appreciation item and a Fishing Bobber Floater Keychain was <br />selected as the freebie to give to park event attendees. <br /> <br />Motion made by Chairperson Errickson-Grahek, seconded by Committee Member Akpan <br />to recommend to City Council to approve the purchase of 150 Kodak 2.5L Dry Bags as the <br />Volunteer Appreciation item at a cost of $682.50 plus $50 Logo Setup and 250 Fishing Bobber <br />Floater Keychains as the freebie to give to park event attendees, at a cost of $447.50 plus $60 <br />Logo Setup. All in favor. Motion carried. <br /> <br />6. Park Facility Use Application – Centerville Elementary School <br /> <br />A request has been received from the Centerville Elementary School for use of Laurie LaMotte <br />Memorial Park for end of school year picnics. <br /> <br />Motion made by Chairperson Errickson-Grahek, seconded by Committee Member Seeley to <br />recommend to the City Council to approve the Park Facility Permit Application for <br />Centerville Elementary School to use Laurie LaMotte Memorial Park, including the <br />bathrooms, from 11 am to 2 pm on 5/29, 5/30, 5/31 and 6/3, for students to play and have <br />lunch. All in favor. Motion carried. <br /> <br />7. 2024 5/8K Runs <br /> <br />Race Coordinator, Ms. Nissa Larson is looking for volunteers for this event. Discussions between <br />Chairperson Errickson-Grahek and Ms. Larson had taken place regarding the following: race <br />sponsorship, free entries for businesses that have organized fitness programs, a medallion and <br />Page 4 of 6 <br /> <br /> <br />
