New Officers and CSO <br />Chief Mork (middle) officially swore in <br />two new officers (Gustafson and <br />Lindholm, left and right, respectively) <br />and a Community Service Officer <br />(Smith). <br />Police Governing Board <br />The Police Governing Board met on <br />August 12 at CLPD Headquartersand <br />approved the Captain’s Union contract, <br />and changes to the non-union personnel <br />policy, dealing with new Earned Safe <br />and Sick Time requirements. Finally, <br />the 2025 Proposed Budget was approved <br />with a 3.7% increase. The budget utilizes <br />a small contribution from fund reserves <br />since the department’s fund balance has <br />grown past its recommended cap. A <br />COPS grant application is still pending <br />and would fund an additional officer, if <br />awarded. <br />Flapjacks and First Responders <br />Area police and fire agencies teamed up <br />to host the first annual Flapjacks and First <br />Responders event at NorBella Senior <br />Living. The residents were invited to take a tour of some of our emergency response vehicles and chat <br />with our public safety staff.
