<br />Council Member Travis indicated that the League of Minnesota Cities may have <br />something the City could use for a model ordinance. <br /> <br />Council recessed at 8:23 p.m. to switch the tape. <br />Council reconvened at 8:30 p.m. <br /> <br />7. Budget/Deferred Comp./Union Contract (Update) <br /> <br />Council Member Capra indicated she and Ms. Bender had met with Abdo, Eick and <br />Meyer last Tuesday and comprised a list of documents that needed to be gathered to bring <br />the City into compliance. She then indicated that Mr. McDonald had some questions that <br />were forwarded to city Attorney Hoeft and noted that the City would be receiving a letter <br />from the consultant concerning the process. <br /> <br />Council Member Capra indicated that the majority of the City's records were in computer <br />files and said that she had asked the public works staff to pull the files from 1996 and <br />1997 out of storage. She further indicated that she will work with Staff to copy the old <br />records and noted that Abdo, Eick and Meyers would contact PEBSCO to obtain <br />information from them to cross-reference with the City's information. <br /> <br />City Attorney Hoeft indicated he had exchanged messages with Mr. McDonald and said <br />Mr. McDonald had indicated a letter would be sent to Council concerning the process. <br />He further indicated that a letter would be sent to his office concerning the fees and <br />services to be provided by Abdo, Eick and Meyers. <br /> <br />Council Member Capra indicated that they had set the date of November 7, 2001 to have <br />all the information ready to give to the auditor for review. She then indicated that the <br />City would need to send a letter to PEBSCO authorizing them to release information to <br />the auditor. <br /> <br />8. Quad Cities Police Department (Update) <br /> <br />Mayor Swedberg indicated that there was a budget meeting where the vision budget <br />which included authorizing the hiring of two sworn officers and a community service <br />officer was approved. He then indicated that Circle Pines and Lexington are attempting <br />to determine what level of support they can offer to the budget. <br /> <br />Mayor Swedberg indicated that Centerville would be hosting the next meeting and <br />indicated he would provide Ms.. Moore-Sykes with that date. He then indicated he would <br />provide donuts and orange juice. <br /> <br />Council Member Travis indicated the next Quad Cities Police Meeting was scheduled for <br />November 15,2001 at 7:30 a.m. at Centerville City Hall. <br /> <br />Council Member Broussard Vickers asked if there was discussion on the consultant. <br /> <br />Page 13 of23 <br />
