Sarah Reichert, 1578 LaMotte Circle, noted she spoke with staff earlier today
regarding the noise of the skate park. She indicated she is in favor of the skate
park as an event for the children, but noted the noise was louder than expected.
Ms. Reichert questioned if a time limit could be placed on the park usage or if
insulation could be placed within the metal ramp.

Councilmember Capra questioned what the noise was from. Ms. Reichert stated it
was from a metal ramp and stated she has heard that this could be insulated to
reduce the noise for the neighboring properties.

Mayor Swedberg stated this would be investigated and thanked Ms. Reichert for
her comments.

Jerry Helmbrecht - Centennial Lakes Police Department - Skate Park

Jerry Helmbrecht, 1745 Main Street, noted he was present to discuss how many
hours the police department could spare at the skate park. He indicated he was
currently present three hours a night at this site.

Mr. Helmbrecht stated time is limited during the daytime hours. He explained he
was not witnessing any problems while at the skate park, but stated during the
day, more issues take place, when a police officer is not present.

Mr. Helmbrecht stated the hours of operation, dawn till dusk issue, could be
enforced more rigidly if the Council wished. He suggested setting a closing time
for safety ofthe children within the City. Mr. Helmbrecht stated the park has
been a great addition to the park system for the youth in the area to participate in.

Mayor Swedberg encouraged all parents to protect their children with helmets,
wrist and elbow guards while they are at the skate park.

Ray De Vine stated once Acorn Creek was opened, he and his neighbors called the
police right away with excess noise complaints to have them address the youth.
He encouraged the residents near LaMotte Park to do the same thing to reduce the
after dusk activities.

Mayor Swedberg thanked Mr. Helmbrecht for all his assembly efforts along with
numerous residents and staff members at the skate park. He noted the kinks will
be worked out on this issue as the Council becomes more aware of concerns.

Ray DeVine - Fete des Lacs 2001 Festival

Mr. DeVine noted the festival was roughly $5,000 in the red after all the
festivities of2001, but noted there were still some donations coming in. He stated
the City of Centerville would be donating approximately $10,200 to the
committee from the revolving fund as a donation and to cover this deficit.

Mr. DeVine indicated the heat was a factor this year, which limited participation.
He asked if the Council has any questions at this time.

3 of 10
