City of Centerville <br />City Council Meeting Minutes <br />November 29, 2006 <br />Council Member Lee said he perceived there had been similar discussion four years <br />previously. <br /> <br />Mayor Capra stated concern that Centerville would not have a say if it did not participate <br />in some form. Council Member Terway concurred. <br /> <br />Council Member Lee said that if Anoka County was looking to create an EDA for taxing <br />authority, he would be vehemently opposed to it. <br /> <br />Mayor Capra suggested that City Administrator Larson be designated as the Council <br />designee during the day and she could attend evening meetings. She asked City <br />Administrator Larson to obtain the meeting schedule. <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Terway, seconded by Council Member Lakso, to <br />approve the participation in Anoka County’s exploration to form an Economic <br />Development Authority (EDA), with recommendation that the City Administrator <br />attend meetings on behalf of the Council. All in favor. Motion carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />4. Liquor License Renewals <br /> <br />City Administrator Larson reported that all information was up to date for the renewal <br />applicants and he suggested Council make a motion for all, with staff reviewing. <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Lakso, seconded by Council Member Terway, to <br />approve the renewal applications for license to sell liquor and tobacco products of <br />Sager’s Bar & Grill, Wiseguys Pizza, Centerville Liquor Barrel, and Corner <br />Express, pending approval of issues that staff may have to meet all standard criteria <br />All in favor. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />5. Resolution #06-051 – Certification of City Services (Lawn Mowing) at 7111 <br />Brian Drive ($63.90 + $50.00 Certification Fee = $113.90) <br /> <br />Council Member Lee inquired as to whether the maintenance process would start for the <br />next year and if grass could be cut on a more regular basis. <br /> <br />City Administrator Larson responded that maintenance would be provided as the <br />ordinance allowed but that there would be times when the lawn would not be cut for an <br />abandoned building, though scheduled until it was taken over. He said someone would <br />be assigned to monitor the maintenance. <br /> <br />Council Member Lee stated that debris had been noticed on the side of the house, as well <br />as the hood and bumper assembly of a car next to the garage. <br /> <br />Legal Counsel Glaser responded that it could be considered a nuisance and action could <br />be taken if the debris was not disposed of in a reasonable period of time. <br />Page 9 of 16 <br />
