<br />Parks and Recreation <br />Already improvement dollars from the Parks and Recreation Development Fee Fund are <br />allocated for LaMotte Park to build a combination skateboard rink/hockey rink (Wheels <br />Park) and to provide electrical power for the park and Fete de Lacs celebrations. These <br />facilities must be built for the 2001 summer recreation season and our out for bid at this <br />writing. <br /> <br />Now is the time to focus on a comprehensive recreation plan for all of the citizens of this <br />community. Item 1 focuses on the immediate recreation needs of this summer. <br /> <br />Item 1: To accomplish the Wheels Park and LaMotte electrical, dedicated fees from the <br />Park development fund were used. Council recognizes the need for General Fund <br />support for maintenance and program. These dollars will be authorized as the Park and <br />Recreation Committee expresses budget needs. In the FY2002 budget, a new General <br />Fund line item called Recreation Programs will be established. This money is to be <br />accounted for in a new budget code 45300 and used only for the purpose of funding <br />recreational programs to benefit Centerville residents. <br /> <br />In the current FY2001 , Council will work with the City Administrator to reallocate existing <br />FY 2001 dollars to accommodate pilot projects that can be accomplished this summer. <br /> <br />A. Provide safe and supervised swimming opportunities at Centerville Beach for all <br />citizens. Included in this item may be bus service, supervision, lifeguards and other <br />items that may be deemed necessary to accomplish the goal of safe access and <br />supervision of the Centerville Beach swimming area. Hours of operation and other <br />implementation issues are to be determined through a cooperative agreement with the <br />County Park.
