Full Access to Intuitive Search Used in conjunction with full-access users, retrieval clients can find documents using the folder browser, template index fields or full text searches using Boolean and "fuzzy logic." There is no functional difference in finding, viewing and printing files. The City should designate specific PCs as retrieval-only when installing the system. When designating clients, organizations need to ensure that those people with heavy workloads who need unconstrained access to LaserPiche have full-access clients. The server controls the total number of clients who can concurrendy use LaserPiche documents based on the combined number of Laser Fiche full-access and retrieval licenses. S ecuriry LaserPiche's comprehensive security options are extended to the retrieval clients in the same way as they apply to full-access users. Records Managers or System Administrators can control browser and view access based on documents and folders, along with controlling access to page level with annotations and redaction. Each retrieval client can be assigned a different level of security. Purthermore, using retrieval clients provides an additional level of security by preventing users from adding, deleting, moving or modifying documents. LASERFICHE SNAPSHOT UTiliTY LaserPiche Snapshot enables users to "print" files generated by any WlOdows application (such as MS Excel, MS Word, AutoCAD, etc.) direcdy to LaserPiche for archiving, storing and retrieving. The "imaging" process retains all formatting and generates an associated ASCII text file captured from the native application. This file can be used for full-text indexing of the document. Anyone with basic computer experience can search and retrieve documents by folders or index cards. An exhaustive full-text or fuzzy logic search can quickly assist the user in retrieving and viewing those documents that are harder to find. After retrieval, the selected documents can be easily printed and faxed. LaserPiche Plus documents can be sent around the world or across the office.
