The LaserFiche <br />MAPI E-mail plug-in enables users to send any LaserFiche documents through any MAPI -compliant e- <br />mail system such as GroupWise, Lotus Notes or Microsoft Exchange. LaserFiche sends either a 16 or <br />32-bit call to the existing e-mail application through the Wmdows interface. Users can attach LaserFiche <br />documents to e-mails that can be read by any TIFF viewer by the recipient. Links are generated with a CGI executable to a <br />LaserFiche server. When the LaserFiche server responds, LaserFiche WebIink translates that response <br />into an easily processed fonnat and returns that information to the CGI executable. The program then <br />provides standard HTML to the Web server. <br /> <br />Any browser (following Netscape 2.0 or Microsoft Internet Explorer 1.0) that can display images and <br />tables can perform viewing regardless of whether the platform is Wmdows, Unix or Macintosh. All <br />features and settings are done through one configuration file located on the LaserFiche WebLink server <br />and are completely user-customizable. Authorized users can view documents without needing the latest <br />equipment or the fastest Internet or network connections, and plug-ins, client-software and Java-support <br />are not required. <br /> <br />System &quirements <br /> <br />No hardware changes need to be made to existing systems to integrate organized infonnation access <br />using the powerful LaserFiche search engine. LaserFiche WebLink can run using Netscape's Fastrack or <br />Enterprise, Apache, or Microsoft's Internet Infonnation Server software. A simple HTML page can be <br />customized by the Webmaster to give users access to the LaserFiche search engine, imaging system <br />folder structure and full-text search capabilities.
