Laserfiche WebLink
Opening the document imaging system to a LAN or WAN that has an existing intranet is a simple
process. Administrators can grant authorized users the ability to access documents without expanding
their existing network installation. System administrators can easily control document access using the
power of LaserPiche's security and the simplicity of a web browser. LaserPiche WebLink can be
configured to require passwords to access different levels of information.

LASERFICHE INTEGRATOR'S TOOLKIT (OPTIONAL NOT USTED IN PRICING TOTALS)

This toolkit contains database utilities and documentation on LaserPiche DDE calls, ActiveX controls
and database structure. It allows users to integrate LaserPiche with other applications through easily
created DDE links or ActiveX calls, or by ODBC connectivity with external database engines to access
and manipulate LaserPiche files. Some possible integration applications are to:

1. Image-enable existing databases using DDE links. Compulink Management
Center, Inc. can write these links, and Redondo Beach's Visual Basic/DDE
programmers can create additions to them.
2. Import/Export data to and from other databases. This ability would be needed
to automate and synchronize LaserPiche with external databases. TIlls feature also
allows the creation and generation of system reporting and database monitoring.
3. Use external database engines to manipulate files. Using the ODBC drivers
included in the toolkit, LaserPiche database files can be manipulated and accessed
by other databases such as Oracle, Sybase or Microsoft SQL. Applications
include generating reports and making global changes in database files

POST INSTALLATION SUPPORT

DOCUMENTATION

The proposed Compulink Solution will include the following documentation.

Hardware Diagrams, Specifications and Configurations: Hardware documentation is to be supplied
by the manufacturer. This documentation will include operating instructions and troubleshooting guides.
Crabtree will be responsible for ensuring that the server and peripheral devices are assembled using
acceptable and supported hardware configurations. Specific configuration documentation should not be
needed, since the proposed LaserPiche solution does not use non-standard hardware configurations.

Operating System and Hardware Specific Software and Configuration: The proposed solution
requires a dedicated imaging server, a DLT tape backup, and an ISIS scanner. The imaging server is
supplied with an operating system, which will include manuals for the NOS. User, installation, and
administration guides will be provided if additional software is required for the DLT drives.

Technical Administrative Instructions: Compulink provides an Installation Guide, which will be
included with the server software that details the step-by-step procedures to proper software installation.
In addition, a System Administration Guide is included to direct staff on procedures and features. This
guide is normally shipped in hardcopy only. However, you could easily create an on-line version by
scanning it into your new LaserPiche database.

THE CITY OF CENTERVILLE

LASERFICHE DOCUMENT IMAGING SYSTEM SOFTWARE

12
