<br />Mr. March asked for the pending process of approval for the 200 I budget. Chief <br />Heckman stated the police department is now looking for comments and <br />suggestions from the cities at this time. Subsequently, a commission meeting <br />would be held for movement on the budget. <br /> <br />Council Member Nelson questioned the uniforms budgeted for 2001. Chief <br />Heckman stated this was only for the items needing replacement over the year for <br />such things as uniforms and shoes. He indicated they vary each year depending <br />on the number of officers on the force. <br /> <br />Council Member Nelson asked how the estimated lease on the budget for 2000 <br />and 2001 differed. Chief Heckman indicated the police department leases all <br />vehicles and pays them off after three years for $1. 00. He stated that because one <br />vehicle was totaled it made for a change in the cycle of payments. <br /> <br />Council Member Nelson asked if repeat alarms were going to be charged to <br />residents. Chief Heckman stated that after three repeat alarms residents would be <br />charged, which deters repeat offenders. <br /> <br />Motion by Mayor Wilharber. seconded by Council Member Sweeney to <br />recommend denial of the police budget for 2001 and to revise the budget to <br />add an officer and a capital expenditure fund to meet the needs of the <br />community. Sweeney seconded the motion. All in favor. Motion carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />Goetz Landscape Well Request <br /> <br />Mayor Wilharber reviewed a letter from Mr. Goetz requesting a well for the use <br />of plant growing, and that City water would still be used for normal use. He <br />indicated the City Engineer had no concerns with this request. <br /> <br />Council Member Travis asked if the Department of Health would have a concern <br />with this issue. Mr. March noted this was the case but, that upon request, the City <br />would not have an issue with this well. <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Nelson. seconded by Council Member Sweeney <br />to approve the well request from Mr. Goetz pending an approval from the <br />Department of Health. All in favor. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Sign Approval for Rob Sheppard <br /> <br />Mr. March noted this item was before the Council due to the fact there was <br />multiple tenants in this building. <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Nelson. seconded by Council Member Sweeney <br />to approve the signage as proposed by DCS Properties fof Rob Sheppard. <br />All in favor.
