Prooosed Road Imorovements
The City has identified several proposed collector streets to be constructed in the City as
development occurs and as needs warrant. These include:
· A collector from the south boundary of the City to CSAH 14.

· A connection from the proposed collector to Brian Drive.

· A collector from CSAH 21 to County Road 54 in the south part of the City.
· A collector from CSAH 21 to Mill Road in the north part of the City.
· A collector providing an extension of Centerville Road from Westview Street to
south of Peltier Lake Drive.
· The extension of 21 st Avenue south to East Cedar Street.
These proposed roads are also identified in the Growth Management Plan (Figure #11).

Transportation planning and system improvements needed on county roads in the City
will be coordinated with the County. The County is in the process of updating the Anoka
County Transportation Plan, which will include long range forecasts to the year 2010,
identification of system needs, and priorities for improvement projects. City growth
projections are not inconsistent with original Metropolitan Council Blueprint forecasts
and should not result in any impacts on the regional transportation system.

Anoka County does not currently have any proposed road reconstruction or widening
programmed in the current county five year highway plan within Centerville. The only
road improvement within the County's plan is the reconstruction ofCSAH 14 from 1-35E
to 1-35W, which includes a significant length of roadway within Centerville. This
improvement, however, is considered to be a "mid-range" project, which is defined as
being constructed within a timeframe of 6 -15 years.

Transit/Park and Ride
The City is not served with scheduled bus service by the regional transit system. The
only existing transit service available to City residents is a park-and-ride location at St.
Genevieve Church, located at Sorel Street and Goiffon Road. Approximate average

48
