<br />Parks & Rec:reation Meeting MinuUls 06-05-02 <br /> <br />representatives from the Soccer Club agreed to contact the above when they had the <br />information requested. <br /> <br />Mr. Bill Bisek, of the Centerville Lions requested the use of the ball fields, located <br />at Laurie LaMotte Park, for ball tournaments held during the weekends of August. <br />3-5 and August 23-25. The Lions would be responsible for maintenance on the ball <br />fields during these weekends. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Council Member Peterson, seconded by Council Member <br />Lee, to recommend couneil approve the Lion's uSe of the ban fields at Laurie <br />LaMotte Park during the week.ends of August 3-5 and August 23-25, 2002. <br />The Lion's will be responsible for field maintenance. AU in Favor: Motion <br />passed unanimously. <br /> <br />IV. CONSIDERATION OF THE MINUTES <br /> <br />Chair DeVine had one correction to the May 1, 2002 Parks and Recreation <br />Committee . Meeting Minutes changing the days the Lions Branch Club sells <br />concessions at Laurie LaMotte Park from Monday, Wednesday and Thursday to <br />Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Committee Member Lee, seconded by Committee <br />Member Peterson, to approve the May 1, 2002 Parks and Recreation <br />Committee Meeting Minutes with the above ammendmelit. AD in Favor: <br />Motion passed unanimously. <br /> <br />V. OLD BUSINESS <br /> <br />1. Concessions at Laurie LaMotte! Branch Lions <br /> <br />Chairperson DeVine reports the Branch Club has been selling concessions each <br />Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, excluding Memorial Day. Council Member <br />Broussard-Vickers reminded Chairperson Devine to be careful with the <br />bookkeeping as they may be required to provide this information. Committee <br />Member Piel assured the committee that she had been keeping very accurate <br />spreadsheets. <br /> <br />2. Enclosures for Satellites <br /> <br />The committee discussed the City Council's requirement that the enclosures not be <br />built from green treated wood. They questioned this as any other option is <br />considerably more expensive and these enclosures are a fence, not a play structure. <br />Committee Member Peterson suggested an a1temative to building the enclosures. <br />Public Works will be thinnmg out large evergreens SU1T01miting the tennis comts~ <br />and some of these trees could be planted around the satellites.
