<br />Parks &; Recreation Meeting Mimrtes 06-05-02 <br /> <br />Motion was made by Committee Member LeBlanc, seconded by Committee <br />Member Lee, to table the building of the satellite enclosures pending the <br />outcome of the tree transplanting project. AD in Favor: Motion passed <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />3. Wargo Summer Park Program <br /> <br />Ms. Stephan reported that few children were signed up for the Wargo program and <br />discussion was held concerning the smaJI turnout. It was felt advertising was <br />sufficient as flyers were sent home with each student from school, information was <br />on cable, available at City Hall, Tom Thumb, Comer Expr~, and Hair Update. It <br />was also on the City Hall sign. There have been no complaints about the $2.00 fee. <br />Committee Member Piel reported last year there were large numbers of children <br />signed up at the last minute. Update at the next scheduled meeting. <br /> <br />4. Wheels Skate Park <br /> <br />Ms. Stephan reported applications for Skate Park Attendants were being taken untiI <br />June 7, 2002 and that Public Works needed 2 (two) weeks notice to open the park. <br />Chairperson Devine would like staff to coordinate volunteers. Council Member <br />Broussard-Vickers suggested nOt using staft: but to have a committee member caII <br />volunteers and ask them to go to the Skate Park as often as they. can. The <br />committee will request Public Works open the Skate Park in 2 (two) weeks on <br />Friday, June 21, 2002. Committee Member Peterson will ensure the hours on the <br />sign are changed ~ reflect the hours of 8 a.m to 8 p.m <br /> <br />5. Bo~o Trail Map - EDC Committee to Consider Publil'lhin(f the Trail Map in <br />the New Resident Packet <br /> <br />Ms. Stephan supplied the committee with the charge for Bonestroo to print 1,000 <br />copies of the Trail Map. Ms. Stephan also reported because EDC has not had a <br />quorum for the last 3 months, no decision was made regarding the Trail Map, but it <br />would be on the June 11, 2002 EDC Agenda. Chairperson DeVme would like this <br />item tabled until the committee is able to go over their :future project list and <br />determine where monies needed to be spent. <br /> <br />6. Acorn Creek Park Trail Re.pjlir <br /> <br />Ms. Stephan reported the developer has been notified of the respoDSlbility to repair <br />the trail by the City Rngineer and Rice Creek Watershed. Details are not available <br />at this time. Update at the next scheduled meeting. <br /> <br />7 . Volunteer Brochure <br /> <br />Council had the opportunity to view the brochure and m changes were suggested. <br /> <br />--._.-~~.~,s..liS4 <br />
