City of Centerville <br />Council Meeting Minutes <br />April 11, 2007 <br /> <br /> <br />Mr. Burns explained that the City would assist the Red Cross in hosting events. <br /> <br />Mayor Capra questioned the fee charged for CPR classes. <br /> <br />Mr. Burns replied that community presentations are free. He reported CPR classes would <br />cost $45 per individual. He stated that some communities provide scholarships to spur <br />attendance. He indicated he would love to work with local businesses to arrange <br />scholarship programs. <br /> <br />Councilmember Lee questioned whether staff or volunteers would work with the Red <br />Cross. <br /> <br />Councilmember Lakso replied she is currently working as a liaison to the Red Cross. She <br />felt that this could be a tremendous asset to the residents of Centerville. <br /> <br />Councilmember Lee commented he would also agree to participate. <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Lakso, seconded by Council Member Paar, to approve <br /> <br />Res. #07-012, the Proclamation for the Participation in the American Red Cross, <br />Twin Cities Area Chapter, Get Ready/Community Challenge Program. All in favor. <br />Motion carried unanimously <br /> <br /> <br />VII.OLD BUSINESS <br /> <br /> <br />1.Adoption of 2007 Council Goals <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Paar, seconded by Council Member Lee, to approve the <br />adoption of 2007 Council Goals. All in favor. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> <br />2.Authorize Plan and Specifications for the Remaining Park Improvements at 1601 <br />LaMotte Drive. <br /> <br />City Engineer Statz explained that the remaining park improvement projects would be bid <br />as one project. He listed some of the projects involved and the associated costs. <br /> <br />A discussion ensued on the specific projects. <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Lee, seconded by Council Member Paar, to authorize <br />Plans and Specifications for the Remaining Park Improvements at 1601 LaMotte <br />Drive and approving an advertisement for bids on the work. All in favor. Motion <br />carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Councilmember Broussard questioned whether Mr. Statz had a cost estimate on the plans <br />and specifications.
