City of Centerville
February 9, 2005
Council Meeting Minutes
2. Mr. James McBride, 1759 Peltier Lake Drive (Request for Extension)
Council discussed the letter received from Mr. McBride requesting a two-week extension
to finish the work required to bring his property into compliance.
Motion by Council Member Lee, seconded by Council Member Broussard Vickers
to approve a two-week extension for Mr. McBride to finish the required work. All
in favor. Motion carried unanimously.
3. Mr. Meyer, Finance Director State Bonding Bill CSAH 14 Project
This item was discussed as part of the next matter.
4. Memorandum of Understanding with Anoka County on CSAH 14
Council Member Broussard Vickers indicated that she is not in favor of signing the MOU
as it exists as she does not feel that the roadway as proposed is in the best interest to the
residents of Centerville. She then said that the road divides the City in an attempt to get
people from Blaine to 35E but the traveling public is not her concern. She further
indicated that there are outstanding issues not addressed and she would not vote to sign
the MOU at this time.
Council discussed the matter and agreed that it may take time and cost more money for
the County and possibly the City but that the road will probably still go through.
Mayor Capra asked if the City could add a statement that the MOU has been signed under
duress.
City Attorney Hoeft indicated that is possible.
Council agreed to direct Staff to apply for the bonding as proposed.
IX. ANNOUNCEMENTS/UPDATES
1. 1601 LaMotte Drive – St. Paul Water Utilities
Mayor Capra indicated that she, Wayne LeBlanc, and Tedd Peterson attended the St. Paul
Water Utility Board Meeting and were granted three months to negotiate on the price
with Mr. Tschida.
Mayor Capra indicated that the Board had said that the property is zoned P-1 but that they
would seek to rezone it to residential. She then asked if Council would consider paying
for a parkland appraisal as it may help negotiations.
