City of Centerville
Council Meeting Minutes
May 11, 2005
Motion by Council Member Paar, seconded by Council Member Terway to approve
the Bald Eagle Water Ski Club’s request to install ski jump on Centerville Lake.
All in favor. Motion carried unanimously.
8. Council Packet Pick Up/Delivery/Electronic
City Administrator Larson asked Council to consider and discuss how to handle packet
delivery. He then suggested receipt by regular mail, email, or police officer drop off.
Mayor Capra commented that sometimes there is confidential information so Staff would
have to be careful.
Council Member Terway indicated that his experience has been that they had public
works deliver the packets the Friday before the meeting.
Council Member Lakso indicated she would be fine with that.
Council agreed that public works should deliver the packets.
Council briefly discussed electronic packets.
Council Member Terway indicated he would be interested in looking into costs and how
it would work.
City Administrator Larson commented that he knew of a neighboring City to his last
employer where Council was outfitted with laptops and they were not used one year later
as there are times when using a laptop to review documents may be cumbersome. He
then said that it may be possible to rent them and try it without going into an investment
and said that Staff could look into the option.
Council Member Terway asked if the City has a City email address and asked whether
Council has City email addresses. He then said he would prefer to have a City email
address.
9. Regional Council of Mayor’s – Go Minnesota Campaign
Mayor Capra asked Council to consider the model Resolution on transportation priorities.
Council Member Lakso indicated she would like to participate.
Council Member Lee said he does not feel it is necessary.
Council Member Paar indicated he is for more roads but not light rail and would want to
know that it is not light rail because he would not support light rail as it costs a lot but
does not work.
