City of Centerville <br />Council Meeting Minutes <br />July 27, 2005 <br />Sergeant Stephan indicated that officers notify victims of the Alexandra House shelter <br />and programs available and then Alexandra House follows up with the victim after the <br />incident to see if assistance can be given. <br />2. Mr. Jeff Smyser, City of Lino Lakes (AUAR) <br />Mr. Shardlow provided Council with a presentation of the I35E Corridor Draft <br />Alternative Urban Areawide Review (AUAR) <br />Council Member Terway asked if the Storm Water Management Plan would affect the <br />City. <br />Mr. Smyser indicated that the proposal is to filter the water better than is done now under <br />the current NURP pond situation. <br />3. Mr. John Thill – Fete des Lacs Parade Road Closure/Temporary No Parking Signs <br />Mr. John Thill appeared before Council and asked for approval of the road closure for the <br />Fete des Lacs parade and temporary no parking signs. <br />Motion by Council Member Terway, seconded by Council Member Lee, to approve <br />the Fete des Lacs road closure for the parade and temporary no parking signs as <br />requested. All in favor.Motion carried unanimously. <br />VI. PUBLIC HEARINGS <br /> None. <br />VII. NEW BUSINESS <br />1.Recycling Challenge <br />Mayor Capra indicated the City has been challenged to recycle more paper as there is a <br />shortage of paper for recycled purposes since China started purchasing from the United <br />States. She also noted that there is an exchange program for lead sinkers and fishing <br />lures and asked residents to consider exchanging them to save the waterfowl from <br />ingesting them. <br /> 2. Centennial Lakes Police Budget 2006 <br />Council Member Lee reviewed the budget with Council and indicated that Centerville’s <br />proposed increase is $27,000 and noted the proposal would take $100,000 out of the <br />reserve fund to lessen the impact. <br />Page 3 of 6 <br /> <br />
