<br />City Council Meeting of September 11, 1996 <br /> <br />given for the first year and the remaining years. Nyberg stated the first year is $1,475.41 <br />and the 9 remaining years will be $1,266.75. Nyberg stated the apartment is billed at <br />3.4 units. The school at 27 units. Nyberg stated a different ratio was set up for <br />commercial property. Wilharber asked about the senior citizens. Hellings explained <br />persons sixty five and older or disabled have the right to defer all assessments until the <br />property is sold. Don Opp requested the council to consider deferring the payments for a <br />couple years. Richard K vanbeek of T -James Properties, questioned the decline in <br />residential assessment fees and not in the commercial property. Nyberg explained <br />residential properties were assessed differently than commercial property. Richard <br />Kvanbeck ofT-James Properties handed Wilharber a letter. Wilharber stated a written <br />appeal has been received from T -James Properties. Udo Wegmann of 1742 Main Street <br />and Pam Sheldon of 1737 Main Street, asked if they can still keep their existing well. <br />Wilharber said yes. Donald Opp asked if the W.A.c. will remain the same. Helmbrecht <br />stated they may go up in the future. <br /> <br />MOTION by Buckbee, seconded by Powers-Rasmussen to close the Public Hearing. <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Mayor Wilharber closed the Public Hearing at 6:30 p.m. and opened the regularly <br />scheduled council meeting. <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES: <br />MOTION by Buckbee, seconded by Brenner to approve the minutes with corrections. <br />Wilharber yes. Helmbrecht and Powers-Rasmussen, abstained. <br /> <br />PAYMENT OF CLAIMS: <br />MOTION by Powers-Rasmussen, seconded by Brenner to approve the Centennial Fire <br />District's expenditures. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />MOTION by Powers-Rasmussen, seconded by Helmbrecht to approve the September <br />1-11 disbursement.
