MOTION by Helmbrecht, second by Brenner to approve the June 10, 1996 meeting
minutes with one correction on page 5. This correction is to clarify that the letter was sent
t from the full council. Motion carried unanimously.

PAYMENT OF CLAIMS

MOTION by Buckbee, second by Helmbrecht to approve the City of Centerville's receipts
and disbursements dated June 11-26, 1996. Motion carried unanimously.

MOTION by Helmbrecht, second by Brenner to approve $1500.00 expenditure to
Maguire Iron. Motion carried unanimously.

SET AGENDA

Add to Unfinished Business: Ken Cook's position, Summer Jam, and Senior Housing.
Add to New Business: Building permits for maintenance, Suburban Inspections.

MOTION by Brenner, second by Helmbrecht to above the agenda for June 26, 1996 with
the above noted additions. Motion carried unanimously.

PETITIONS AND COMPLAINTS

Laura received one for the stop sign on Brian Drive and Brian Way that it is not being
followed and asked that this area be patrolled. She also noted that the exit only sign at
Corner Express is also not being followed.

Laura's final comment was that there was broken glass at Tracie McBride Park.

APPEARANCES

Ken Peterson, Suburban Inspections came before the council to present the option of
contracting electrical inspections through him versus using the state. Mr. Peterson stated
it would provide better in-house awareness with city staff and is also a good cross
reference with permits. City staff would be issuing electrical permits out of city hall. Paul
stated it would also be a benefit to the homeowner or builders for scheduling inspections.

The attorney is to review the proposed contract and review ordinances that may need to
be created or amended.

Clearwater Meadows

Dave Nyberg recommended not awarding the utility contract; there is a 90 day bid holding
period. Greg Hellings would recommend not issuing any additional permits besides the
two model home permits. Dave also mentioned an assessment hearing will need to be
scheduled some time in the near future.

~

CC6-26MM.WPS

3
