<br />- <br /> <br />MOTION by Buckbee, second by Helmbrecht to approve pay estimate #1 for the <br />watermain extension project and the Deputy Clerk and the Clerk Administrator are to <br />determine what fund it should be taken from. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />1996 Street Work <br /> <br />MOTION by Wilharber, second by Buckbee to authorize crackfilling on city streets except <br />for the downtown area and LaMotte Drive; as recommended in Paul's memo dated June <br />18, 1996. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />The city is to research the proposed 1997 street work for joint projects with Lino Lakes; <br />such as LaMotte Drive and 21 Street. <br /> <br />Bill Bisek - Fireworks <br /> <br />Bill came before the council requesting donations to the Centerville Lions Club for <br />fireworks during the city celebration. Bill was provided with a 1996 state application for <br />fireworks and he stated he would be working with the Fire Chief also. <br /> <br />Bill stated the Lions are trying to bring the celebration back to the children and will be <br />making Kid's Day bigger. The Lions are also accepting donations for kid's day. <br /> <br />MOTION by Powers-Rasmussen, second by Brenner to authorize a donation to the <br />Centerville Lions Club for fireworks of$1000 and $500 for kid's day. Motion carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />Newsletter <br /> <br />MOTION by Brenner, second by Helmbrecht to approve the summer newsletter with the <br />noted suggestions from the council. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Ken Cook <br /> <br />MOTION by Helmbrecht, second by Powers-Rasmussen to extend Mr. Cook's <br />employment through July, until the city hears back from the Department of Employee <br />Relations. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Summer Jam <br /> <br />MOTION by Powers-Rasmussen, second by Brenner to close Peltier Lake Drive and <br />Mound Trail-- restrict to local traffic only -- on June 30, from noon to midnight; <br />contingent upon the Police Chiefs approval of closing city streets.
