<br />~ <br /> <br />MOTION by Councilmember Brenner, seconded by Councilmember Helmbrecht to approve the <br />set agenda with the noted changes. Motion carried. <br /> <br />APPEARANCES: <br /> <br />Tom Snell- Anoka County Chamber of Commerce - <br />Mr. Snell explained Anoka County Chamber of Commerce has sent up a networking break on the <br />first and third Fridays of the month at Matthews Restaurant in Lexington. The meetings are <br />designed to help businesses purchase products from each another. Mr. Snell would appreciate the <br />Council's help getting the news out. <br /> <br />Another program the Chamber of Commerce has implemented is the Algebra program. Of the 50 <br />percent of females involved in the program, 40 percent stay after school one day a week to take <br />algebra classes. The parents have hired a teacher to offer the training to their children. <br /> <br />Finally, the Chamber of Commerce is embarking to give a $1,000 scholarship just to the <br />Centennial School District. The Chambers is raising funds by selling $50,000 fake stocks for <br />$15.00 six weeks at a time, then the high stock holder wins a T.v. Mr. Snell has been stopping <br />to update cities of the programs available to the communities. Councilmember Brenner thanked <br />Mr. Snell in advance for accepting to speaking at the Business Appreciation Dinner. <br /> <br />Mike Black - Lakeland Hills Final Grading Plan - <br />Mr. Nyberg explained a new Engineer has updated the Lakeland Hills grading plans. <br />Mr. Mike Black explained when Midwest Land Surveys took over the grading plans, a 16,000 <br />yard shortage was discovered. There will be dirt created off the sites which will result in nicer <br />house pads and lot sites. <br /> <br />Further, Mr. Black explained the Army Corp of Engineers requested 100% clearance ofIndian <br />Burial Grounds. Currently the land is cleared 98%, because of a quarter sized piece of pottery <br />which dated back 2000 years ago. Additionally, the archeologist will be out on April 24, to <br />determine if this will be a registered historical site. Mr. Black explained they have received <br />approval but the permit won't be issued until this issue is resolved. <br /> <br />Mr. Nyberg briefed the Council on the updates; The drainage swales were checked to make sure <br />they are not in the easements. MSA has checked on the restricted south house pads sites since <br />they are smaller. The owners may be restricted to deck permits. Mr. Nyberg explained Mr. <br />Hatem Qamhieh's concerns of erosion in the creek were addressed with the sharp swale leading <br />the drainage directly to the creek. Mr. Black explained some drainage is directed to existing <br />homes which will be redirected. <br /> <br />Councilmember Buckbee left the Council Meeting at approximately 7: 15 p.m. <br /> <br />Mr. Nyberg explained the utility plans will be ready on May 8, for the Council meeting on May <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />4 <br />
