<br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the City Council of <br />Centerville held their regular meeting on Wednesday, June 10, <br />1981 in City Hall. Mayor Savela called the meeting to order <br />at 8:00 pm. Present were: Laska, Murray and Wilharber. <br />Absent: L'Allier (arrived later). <br /> <br />Motion by Wilharber, second by Laska to approve minutes of <br />May 27th meeting, motion carried. <br /> <br />PETITIONS AND COMLAINTS: NONE <br /> <br />Discussion held on Street Restoration project. Council had <br />requested Mr. Emerick's presence at meeting. He was in atten- <br />dance as was Mr. Carley and Mr. Rediske from Carley & Associates, <br />City Engineer. After discussing the seven items on the Engineer's <br />letter of May 13 plus two recommendations from council, motion <br />was made by Murray, second by Laska to adjourn for five minutes <br />so council could discuss problem in closed session, motion <br />carried. Council adjourned at 8:45 pm. <br /> <br />Council (with exception of L'Allier) met with Attorney Hawkins <br />in outer room of City Hall to address street restoration <br />project. Council consensus was to pay Northern Asphalt <br />~6,507.52 immediately which is the amount withheld from <br />prior estimates, withhold $11,000. as liquidated damages and <br />pay Northern Asphalt for the seven plus items when they finish <br />project. <br /> <br />Council convened in City Hall meeting room at 8:49 pm. <br /> <br />Motion by Murray, second by Laska to pay Northern Asphalt <br />$6,507.52 withheld on estimates for sodding, seeding and mulching <br />and if Northern Asphalt agrees to take care of 7 items on <br />Engineer's letter of May 13 plus the 2 recommendations made by <br />Council and if Northern Asphalt agrees to the $11,000. amount <br />for liquidated damages, he can ride off in the sunset and the <br />City can get on to bigger and better things, motion carried. <br /> <br />Discussion on Major Construction repairing street in front of <br />7184 Mill Road. They have not repaired street as yet and <br />Attorney Hawkins suggested he write the company Major is <br />bonded with to inform them of problem. In the meantime, <br />the maintenance man will fill in hole with coal mix material. <br /> <br />Discussion on vehicles travelling on Mound Trail thinking they <br />are going into County Park area. Clerk instructed to advise <br />Mr. Torkildson about the condition of posts they put across the <br />cul-du-sac at end of Mound Trail and request a more substantial <br />barricade be put across the cul-du-sac. <br /> <br />Maintenance man informed to get paint for skating rink and yellow <br />paint for some street curbs and have C~TA employee do the painting. <br />
