City of Centerville <br />Council Meeting Minutes <br />January 23, 2008 <br />Motion by Council Member Broussard-Vickers, seconded by Council Member <br />Lakso, to Approve the Planning & Zoning Commission Recommendation for the <br />City to Request the Installation of a Guard Rail Along the East Side of Centerville <br />Road (CSAH 21) from Center Street South for a Distance of Approximately 400 feet <br />- Anoka County Highway Department. All in favor. Motion carried unanimously. <br />Authorize Grant Application to Rice Creek Watershed District for Downtown <br />Stormwater Draina.~e Improvements <br />City Administrator Larson reported that the Rice Creek Watershed District has a grant <br />program to assisting cities with drainage projects relative to impaired lakes and waters. <br />He stated that Centerville Lake is on their list of approved projects. <br />City Engineer Statz stated that the submitted grant application is for a matching (50%) of <br />the total costs of the proposed project. <br />Motion by Council Member Broussard-Vickers, seconded by Council Member Lee, <br />to Authorize a Grant Application to Rice Creek Watershed District for Downtown <br />Stormwater Drainage Improvements. All in favor. Motion carried unanimously. <br />6. Authorize Costs for Appraisals for the 2009 Street Improvement Project <br />City Administrator Larson reported that Staff from Bonestroo have been working on <br />project details. He stated staff hopes to do preliminary work relative to assumptions and <br />where properties stand on estimated assessments. <br />Motion by Council Member Lee, seconded by Council Member Paar, to Authorize <br />Costs for Appraisals for the 2009 Street Improvement Proiect not to exceed $7,500 <br />and designate the City Attorney's office to engage the needed services. All in favor. <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br />IX. ANNOUNCEMENTS/UPDATES <br />1. City Administrator Larson <br />City Administrator Larson discussed the County Assessor's fee increase for 2009 and the <br />possibility of hiring a private Assessor which could potentially save the City <br />approximately $4,000 per year based upon 2007 rates. <br />2.
