<br />City Council Meeting Minutes of November 8, 1995 <br /> <br />MOTION by Brenner, second by Buckbee to approve the public hearing meeting minutes <br />of October 25, 1995. Motion carried, Councilmember Powers-Rasmussen abstained due <br />to absence at the meeting. <br /> <br />OCTOBER 25, 1995 REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br /> <br />MOTION by Helmbrecht, second by Brenner to approve the regular city council meeting <br />minutes of October 25, 1995. Motion carried, Councilmember Powers-Rasmussen <br />abstained due to absence at the meeting. <br /> <br />SET AGENDA <br /> <br />Under Appearances add Jim Brimeyer, The Brimeyer Group <br />Under New Business add #8. Software and #9. Lake Sanitation <br /> <br />MOTION by Helmbrecht, second by Brenner to approve the November 8, 1995 agenda <br />with the above amendments. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />COMMITTEE REPORTS <br /> <br />Mayor Wilharber informed the council that two new officers would be sworn in at the <br />police commission meeting on November 9, 1995. <br /> <br />APPEARANCES <br /> <br />James Brimeyer, President of The Brimeyer Group, described the firm and the type of <br />work they do. He summarized the work they do by saying it is a full-service executive <br />search consulting firm. They assist in finding the right person to fill positions within the <br />public sector. Although he has had this career for a number of years, The Brimeyer Group <br />has been in business for 4 years. <br /> <br />The general process consists of 1. Developing a position profile. During this step they <br />meet with the council members and staff to discuss the role and responsibility of the <br />position. This will be the first meeting with council. 2. They put the word out to all the <br />contacts they have available to them to obtain candidates. 3. Preliminary interview to <br />achieve an in-depth evaluation of the individuals interested. Screening and background <br />investigation is done. 4. This is the second meeting with the council. They will provide <br />specific information on the individuals, from these reports final candidates will be selected. <br />5. Background checks are done prior to the interviews. 6. The Brimeyer Group will <br />assess the candidates by way of "The DiSC Behavioral Management System". 7. <br />Interviewing and Selection, they will arrange the schedule for interviews for final <br />candidates and with direction will negotiate employment with the selected candidate. This <br />is the third meeting for council to attend. 8. After six months they will return to help <br />conduct a performance evaluation.
