City Council October 25, 1995 Meeting Minutes

COMMITTEE REPORTS

Councilmember Brenner stated that EDC would like to do a handout at the Centerville
Tree farm with coupons from local businesses to start the weekend of Thanksgiving.
Brenner and John Magill are working on the flyer.

Councilmember Brenner also reported on the Star City Conference that she attended. She
stated that there is a Minnesota Design Team which is a group of volunteer architects that
go around the help communities designing their city. The team spends time in the town
talking with residents and businesses on their thoughts and ideas. Cities need to apply to
be considered and it would take about a year before they would be able to start. Although
their time is donated the expenses need to be paid -- approximate cost of$3,000.00. A
visual and written plan is provided at completion of the project.

APPEARANCES

WILLIAM GAJESKI, REQUEST FOR A CULVERT

William Gajeski, 7045 Centerville Road, submitted a drawing to the city requesting the
city help with the installation of a culvert in front of his house. Mr. Gajeski request stated
"I'm asking the city if I could get some help to put a culvert in my ditch and back fill it to
level out my yard. There's always standing water in the ditch area and when it rains it
washed out my driveway because the county put a bigger culvert under Centerville Road
last year. Mine is to small to handle the water. It would take a 16" culvert to hook up to
the existing culvert, extend it west about 80 feet go under my driveway west then back fill
it in. I would buy the culvert if the city would do the digging the dirt work." Mr. Gajeski
was not present.

Dave Nyberg stated that although he has not been to the house, by reviewing the drawing
provided he has a concern where the water to go if the ditch was filled in.

The size and type of pipe would need to be determined. Heritage needs to be
reconstructed and so does LaMotte Drive. Staff needs to check when it is in the capital
improvement plan to do this work and also to check with Lino Lakes on when they are
going to redo their portion of LaMotte Drive.

MOTION by Wilharber, second by Brenner to refer this to public works for their
recommendations, prices, time frame and return to city council for review. Motion carried
unanimously.

OLD BUSINESS

ACORN CREEK SECOND ADDITION

CClO-25M.WPS

2
