Mr. Nyberg cautioned the <br />330 city Council about approving signs routing traffic to Peltier <br />331 Lake Drive. Mr. Nyberg noted in two weeks the city Council would <br />332 be addressing complaints from residents on Peltier Lake Drive. <br />333 <br />334 Council member Helmbrecht suggested Mr. DeFoe place signs on the <br />335 south detour route (Birch Street) stating the number of miles to <br />336 the Waterworks Beach Club. <br />337 <br />338 Council member Dario noted the current business establishments <br />339 need business to stay alive. He expressed he did not have a <br />340 problem with the businesses placing signs detouring traffic onto <br />341 Peltier Lake Drive. Council member Dario stated he lives on <br />342 Peltier Lake Drive and would be willing to address the concerns <br />343 of other residents. He would like to give the option of <br />344 contributing to the cost of the signage to other business owners. <br />345 He noted that hopefully the project would be completed within two <br />346 to three weeks. Council member Dario suggested parents be asked <br />347 to keep their children out of the streets during the period of <br />348 increased traffic. <br />349 <br />350 Mayor Buckbee noted people may look at the liquor establishment, <br />351 such as Waterworks, as a nuisance. However, the businesses have <br />352 been good to the community, they contribute substantially to the <br />353 tax base and they have made considerable contributions (i.e. City <br />354 Celebration fireworks/laser light show, fundraisers) to the city. <br />355 Mayor Buckbee noted he is willing to risk trouble with his <br />356 neighbors regarding the directing of traffic onto Peltier Lake <br />357 Drive. <br />358 <br />359 Council member Brenner noted she would like to direct traffic to <br />360 the south with signs. She expressed concerns with directing <br />361 traffic down a residential street. She expressed that she was <br />362 sorry she did not realize the directing of traffic to the south <br />363 would hurt the businesses. <br />364 <br />365 Council member Helmbrecht expressed she is very nervous about <br />366 routing traffic to the north due to the number of children in the <br />367 area. <br />368 <br />369 Mr. DeFoe explained his situation is very serious, that he is <br />370 going broke. Mr. DeFoe explained the bar business is the most <br />371 fickle business and asked the city Council to place a huge amount <br />372 of pressure on the Contractor to complete the project as quickly <br />373 as possible. <br />374 <br />375 Clerk/Administrator Tamara Miltz-Miller noted Mill Road and <br />376 Peltier Lake Drive are public streets and if Mr. DeFoe placed <br />377 directional signs on private property the City Council may not <br />
