Mr. Stewart suggested informing the Rice <br />115 Creek Watershed District of Centerville's intentions to submit <br />116 the document rescinding the petition and application for permit <br />117 at the same time. <br />118 <br />119 Acorn Creek - Uodate of investiQation of road damaQe. <br />120 John Stewart, City Engineer, was present. Mr. Stewart noted that <br />121 MSA, Consulating Engineers and the Centerville Public Works <br />122 Director have inspected the City streets for possible damages. <br />123 Mr. Stewart noted the only damage appeared to be to the edges of <br />124 Mill Road north of the Acorn Creek project. There is damage to <br />125 the edge of the road, the ditch is rutted, driveway openings are <br />126 cracked and three to four culvert ends are compacted. Mr. <br />127 Stewart noted these items have been identified in the punch list. <br />128 <br />129 Mr. Stewart expressed it would be difficult to prove damages to <br />130 other roads because there is no physical distress that MSA, can <br />131 directly attribute to the Acorn Creek development contractor <br />132 traffic. <br />133 <br />134 Mr. Stewart stated that in the next Developer's Agreement it <br />135 would be advisable to spell out restrictions and penalties. <br />136 <br />137 NEW BUSINESS: <br />138 <br />139 Tax Forfeit Land - Mill Road (ditch area). <br />140 John Stewart, City Engineer, noted that in 1987/1988 the City <br />141 expended funds to clean out this ditch area. Mr. Stewart <br />142 appeared to feel the City should acquire this property through <br />143 the tax forfeit procedure. Mr. Stewart noted when the ditch area <br />144 is cleaned in the future, the permission of the property owner, <br />145 south of the area, would be required. <br />146 <br />147 Motion by Buckbee, second by Wilharber to direct City staff to <br />148 file a written application with the County Board to withhold the <br />149 parcel from sale and to proceed with acquisition of the parcel, <br />150 motion carried unanimously. <br />151 <br />152 Purchase of Trash Pumo <br />153 John Stewart, City Engineer, noted it is a good idea for the City <br />154 of Centerville to purchase a trash pump. Mr. Stewart stressed <br />155 that it is important for public works employees to be properly <br />156 trained with regard to the operation of the equipment. Mr. <br />157 Stewart also noted the public works department should be aware of <br />158 the damage that could be caused with regard to the environment by <br />159 pumping sewage incorrectly. <br />160 <br />161 Mr. Stewart recommended the purchase of the Honda 8 hp with a <br />162 factory 3" trash pump model WT-30 with cam locks on all hoses and <br />
