Ms. Miltz-Miller noted <br />that it appears the Centennial Youth Hockey Association is <br />challenging the ordinance and contends that per state statute the <br />City of Centerville can not require this. <br /> <br />Ms. Miltz-Miller noted that no other charitable gambling <br />organizations, who have applied for a premises permits, have <br />challenged the Centerville Ordinance #51, and they have complied <br />with the requirements of the ordinance, with one exception. <br /> <br />Ms. Miltz-Miller asked Ms. Kranz if the premises <br />application is approved, would the Centennial Youth <br />Association comply with the 50% of the profits be used for <br />purposes directly benefiting the residents of Centerville. <br /> <br />permit <br />Hockey <br />lawful <br /> <br />Ms. Kranz noted that half of the youths participating in the <br />hockey association live in Centerville and Lino Lakes, the other <br />half live in Circle Pines, Lexington and Blaine. <br /> <br />Council member Helmbrecht expressed that Centerville may be <br />unique due to the fact the Junior and Senior High Schools are not <br />located within the City limits. The Centennial School District <br />is located within the City of Blaine. <br /> <br />Council member Wilharber asked Ms. Kranz if the Centennial Youth <br />Hockey Association operates pull tabs in any city. <br /> <br />Ms. Kranz noted the only establishment the Centennial Youth <br />Hockey Association is operating pull tabs is the Waterworks Bar <br />in Centerville. Ms. Kranz noted that should the opportunity <br />arise in other cities they would consider operating pull tabs <br />elsewhere. <br /> <br />Mayor Buckbee asked Ms. Kranz to explain the position of the <br />Centennial Youth Hockey Association. <br /> <br />Ms. Kranz noted it is the Centennial Youth Hockey Association's <br />goal to obtain "x" amount of dollars to subsidize costs to play <br />
