Maier, Stewart & Associates
recommend the Centerville City Council accept the low bid from Valley
Paving, Inc. for $420,)24.66.

Members of the audience asked questions & expressed concern about the
road reconstruction project:

Earl Kieffer, 1594 Peltier Lake Drive
Bennet McLendon, 7198 Shad Avenue
Carol Pelton, 7178 Mill Road
Pete Johnston, 1585 Peltier Lake Dr.
Gerorge Haberman, 7288 Mill Road
Bill Svetin, 1687 Peltier Lake Dr.
Peter Buesseler, 7159 Shad Ave.
Dan Skoog, 1613 Peltier Lake Dr.
Steve Marcello, 1588 Peltier Lake Dr.
Tina Vermeulen, 1645 Peltier Lake Dr.
Reggie Searles, 1632 Peltier Lake Dr.
Tom Dario, 1573 Peltier Lake Dr.
Richard Thompson, 1657 Peltier Lake Dr.
Larry Koch, 1626 Peltier Lake Dr.

John Stewart, City Engineer, addressed some of the concerns of the
audience. Daily inspection reports are done in triplicate copies
to: City Clerk, the Inspector, & to Maier Stewart to be kept in the
project file. Residents are welcome to view the inspection reports
at any time at the City Hall. Mr. Stewart recommends that one or
two Council members be appointed to work with the inspections & the
engineers.

Mr Stewart explained that the contractors performance bond would
have to have the approval of City Attorney, William Hawkins. The
bond was included in the contractors bid to the City & that the
contractors low bid is good for 60 days. Once the City elects to
award the bid, the contractor provides surety to the City. The
performance bond then reverts to a guarantee bond.

Mr. Stewart advised that the width of the streets in the road
reconstruction project would depend on whether the street were
in a rural or residential area. Mill Road will ftave 24 foot wide
streets. No roads in the road reconstruction project will have
concrete curb & gutter.
