City Council Meeting
MirllJ.tes
July 22, 1987
Page Five

wants a water system in the L'Allier Estates II project, and that
he felt the developments in which the water is being proposed
should pay for a water system feasibility study if the Council
were to decide to go ahead with it.

John Johnson, representing Centerville Heights noted that it
would be more painful to try to put in a water system later if it
is not incorporated with the current proposed developments.

It was noted that individual wells in the proposed L~Allier
Estates II development would be approximately 85 feet deep, the
individual wells in the proposed Centerville Heights development
would be approximately 150 feet deep, and a proposed City well
would be approximately 400 feet deep (which would not draw water
from current shallow wells).

There are currently six homes on Mill Road which would have the
option of hooking up the proposed water system when it is put in.
This would be the individual residents choice at this time, and
there would be a charge for them to do this.

Motion by Fritchie, second by Neumann to adapt Resolution #87-17
to inatruct the City Engineer to do a feasibility study for a
water system to look at the long term needs of the City with
special attention to the proposed L'Allier Estates II and
Centerville Heights developments; this study is to include the
costs of different types of systems and backups, aye: Neumann,
Robischon, Fritchie;
nay: Laska, L'Allier, motion carried.

A copy of the above Resolution is attached to and made a part of
these minutes.

Motion by Fritchie, second by Robischon to table discussion of
the tennis courts, motion carried unanimously.

Motion by Laska, second by Neumann to purchase a used air
conditioning unit from Orville Hughes, 1793 Center Street, for
the amount of $100.00, plus $60.00 in repair costs which will be
paid to North Suburban Refrigeration and Air Conditioning, motion
carried unanimously.

NEW BUSINESS
Council member Fritchie updated the Council on the Task Force of
Cities which is addressing concerns regarding the Metropolitan
Council.
