CC Meeting Minutes
Page Three
June 10, 1987

versus a 75 foot culdesac as required in Ordinance #8,
motion carried unanimously.

Motion by Robischon, second by Neumann to accept the
recommendations of the street naming committee to name the
streets on Centerville Heights that run east and west, listed
from the most northernly street to the most southernly, Prairie
Drive, Fox Lane and Peterson Trail, the north south street to be
named in the near future, motion carried unanimously.

Motion by Neumann, second by Robischon that the grading plan
approval will be contingent upon the review of the City Engineer,
and any expense regarding the grading plan will be incurred by
the developer, Harstad Companies, motion carried unanimously.

Pam Henderson of Maier Stewart advised that the Comprehensive
Sewer Plan Amendment became more complicated that anticipated and
required additional effort. She would like to refer the issue of
why the costs appear to be greater than quoted to John Stewart or
Terry Mauer, and to have them clarify why the Comprehensive Sewer
Plan Amendment appears to be under two accounts.

Clerk will invite
representative for
Council meeting.

Mary Hauser the Metropolitan Council
Centerville to come to the June 24, 1987 City

NEW BUSINESS
Discussion of request for special use permit for auto repair and
variance for building height for Keith Kruger, 6719 Centerville
Road. Clerk advised that as auto repair is not specifically
stated in Ordinance ~4, Gunnar Pettersen, Building Inspector
would not issue a building permit for the building to be used for
auto repair unless he received verification from the City
Attorney that auto repair in the rural residential district could
legally be permitted. Clerk contacted City Attorney who advised
that it is not legally permitted. He advised that in order for
Mr. Kruger to operate his auto repair business at his home, the
land must be rezoned or Ordinance #4 changed to allow auto repair
under Special Uses for rural residential areas.

Motion by Laska, second by Fritchie to grant a Special Use Permit
to Keith Kruger, 6719 Centerville Road for auto repair in his
home as per the recommendation of the Planning and Zoning
Commission; aye: Laska, Fritchie, L'Allier; nay: Neumann;
abstain: Robischon, motion carried.

Clerk advised that this was against the advise of the City
Attorney, and that the Building Inspector would not issue a
building permit without the advise of the Attorney, thus even
though the motion were made, the building could not be erected.
