<br />1 7 ~1 <br /> <br />The City Council of the City of Centerville held their regular <br />meeting on Wednesday, August 11, 1976 in the City Hall. Mayor <br />Prachar called the meeting to order at 8:00 pm. Present were <br />Leon L'Allier, Elmer Murray and John Peterson. Absent: Fran <br />Burque. Elmer Murray made a motion to accept minutes of meetings <br />held July 6, 14 artd 28, 1976, Leon L'Allier seconded it, motion <br />carried. <br /> <br />Leon L'Allier made a motion to authorize G. W. Anderson and <br />Associates to do an audit of the City of Centerville books for <br />1975, John Peterson seconded it, motion carried. <br /> <br />Clerk read letter from Norman Fritchie, 1637 Peltier Lake Drive, <br />complaining about the lack of visibility for automobile drivers <br />at the intersection of Main Street and Peltier Lake Drive. The <br />Mayor surveyed the problem and instructed clerk to call Anoka <br />County Highway Department to take care of weed growth problem. <br /> <br />Mrs. Hal Leibel appeared before council with a request to build <br />a body shop off the corner of Mound Trail on Main Street. John <br />Peterson made a motion to rezone the parcel of property known as: <br />Commencing at a point in the East line of Government Lot 5, Section <br />15, Township 31 North, Range 22 West, distant 233.17 feet south <br />of the northeast corner of said Government Lot 5 (said East line <br />of Government Lot 5 bears S 0 degrees 21'37" East for the purpose <br />of this description); thence N 70 degrees 43'30" East, a distance <br />of 594.03 feet to the point of beginning; thence S 0 degrees 21' <br />37" East, a distance of 237.48 feet; thence N 70 degrees 43'30" <br />East to the shore of Peltier Lake; thence Northerly along the <br />shore of said Peltier Lake to ~n intersection with a line extending <br />on a bearing of N 70 degrees ]2' East from the point of beginning; <br />thence S 70 degrees 43'30" West to the point of beginning, from <br />residential-agricultural to commercial, Elmer Murray seconded it, <br />motion carried. <br /> <br />Clerk read letter from L & B Tree Service concerning proposed <br />building to be located on 6905 - 20th Avenue South. Mr. Brokke <br />gave a summary of his landfill operation up to the present and <br />advised council he was not aware of a license that is required <br />to operate a landfill within the city limits but has applied <br />through PCA for a license and has received one. A license for <br />such short duration could be allowed by the city but the city <br />has no intention of allowing a permanent landfill operation. <br />Mr. Brokke advised council that he would be hauling in trees for <br />the landfill for approximately one more month and the trees are <br />covered with 8-10" of black dirt which peA requires 6-8". The <br />matter of the sawmill and maintenance building as requested in <br />letter will be taken up at a future meeting. Elmer Murray made <br />a motion to issue a license until October .15, 1976 to L & B Tree <br />Service for their landfill pending approval from the Rice Creek <br />Watershed, John Peterson seconded it, motion carried. <br /> <br />Mr. Bob Burman was in attendance and presented the city with a <br />Soil Resources and Interpretation for Community Development <br />survey and information. There was also a discussion on the proposed <br />service road to be built behind the homes on Mound Trail and a <br />
