<br />lRO <br /> <br />discussion on the letter from Mr. Burman to the council members <br />on Anoka County being designated as an economic development area. <br /> <br />Council was advised of a Metro Council Regional meeting to be <br />held on Thursday, October 21, 1976 at 7:30 pm in the Centerville <br />Elementary School. Centerville is the host city and interested <br />parties from Centerville, Lino Lakes, Forest Lake, Hugo, Marine, <br />May Township, New Scandia Township, Forest Lake Township, Linwood <br />and Columbus would be invited. <br /> <br />Leon L'Allier made a motion to issue a 3.2 Beer permit to John <br />Lutz for Saturday and Sunday, August 21 and 22, 1976, 8:00 AM <br />to 8:00 pm to hold a softball tournament sponsored by Nadeau's <br />IGA in Hugo at the ballfield on Main Street off of LaValle Drive. <br />Motion also calls for sufficient policing of the area, cleaning <br />up grounds after closing of tournament and parking handled adequately <br />by team members, John Peterson seconded it, motion carried. <br /> <br />Discussion was held on Community Needs Assessment letter from <br />Anoka County Health Department. Matter was tabled until next <br />meeting. <br /> <br />Mayor advised council he had written letters to Jerry Parent, <br />Jim Schilling, Jerome Engler and Jim Stevens concerning sewer <br />service on their various pieces of property. As of this date <br />Jim Stevens had replied on his desire for sewer connection. <br /> <br />Mayor advised council public hearings on the Northern States <br />Power Company application for electric rate increase has begun <br />as of August 10, 1976 and would continue into October until all <br />parties have been heard. Annual average percentage increase would <br />involve residential service 11.0%; small commercial and industrial <br />10.9%; large commercial and industrial 11.0%; public street and <br />highway lighting 11.5%; and other sales to public authorities 10.9%. <br /> <br />John Peterson made a motion to grant Northwestern Bell Telephone <br />Company permission to place, construct and thereafter maintain <br />buried cable and pedestal on Mound Trail, Elmer Murray seconded <br />it, motion carried. <br /> <br />Council was advised August 25 meeting would commence at 7:30 pm <br />in order for Federal Insurance Administration to present flood <br />insurance study they are preparing for our city. <br /> <br />Mr. and Mrs. Frank Hentges were in attendance requesting a sub- <br />division on their property on Mill Road. Matter was turned over <br />to Planning and Zoning to look over at their meeting on September 7. <br /> <br />Hearing was held on Mobile Home Ordinance. Clerk read proposed <br />ordinance and discussion followed. Leon L'Allier made a motion <br />to continue hearing until P & Z could go;'over recommendations <br />submitted by council and interested parties, Elmer Murray <br />seconded it, motion carried. <br />
