<br />The City Council of the City of Centerville held a <br />Public Hearing on the proposed sewer improvement in Centerville <br />on Thursday, June 10, 1976, at 7:30 pm in the Centerville <br />Elementary School. <br /> <br />Mayor Prachar introduced the Council, Attorney, Engineer <br />and Springsted Corporation representative to the citizens in <br />attendance. Mr. Carley, Engineer, gave a brief outline of the <br />sewer situation from the time of its origin up to the present <br />date. He also explained the method of assessing project, <br />when it is to be paid, what is defined as Green Acres, and <br />proposed water mains to be included the sewer project. <br /> <br />The total cost of the ~r6ject, as proposed would be <br />$1,624,000. This includes $415,000. for water mains and <br />$1,208,000. for the sewer improvement. Plan for assessing <br />would be as follows: <br />Approximately 302 stub connection at $250.00 each. <br />Unit charge would be $1,000. This would increase $50. a year. <br />160 new units at $1500. <br />Acreage charge - $200 per acre <br />30,000 front feet - $15.60 per front foot. <br />Surcharge of $2.00 per month. <br /> <br />100' wide lot with house or building on it $1566. <br />Stub charge 250. <br />unit charge 1000. <br />Acreage charge - (100' lot i acre) 100. <br /> <br />Proposed assessment $2916. <br /> <br />It would be $1900. on vacant lot (no unit charge) <br /> <br />The water main project of $415,000 would include well <br />and pump house taking up $120,000 of the project.
