<br />~ <br />( <br /> <br />The City Council of the City of Centerville held their regular <br />meeting on Wednesday, October 12, 1977 in the City Hall. Mayor <br />Prachar called the meeting to order at 8:00 pm. Present were: <br />Burque, L'Allier, Murray, Peterson and Attorney Hawkins. <br /> <br />Leon L'Allier made a motion to accept minutes of meeting held <br />September 28. 1977, John Peterson seconded it. motion carried. <br /> <br />Mrs. Conni~ Willert appeared before council with questions <br />on running an engineering survey service out of her home at <br />1691 Main Street which is zoned residential. The council could <br />see no problems connected with such a business. <br /> <br />Attorney Hawkins presented rough draft of lease agreement <br />to be entered into between Centennial School District #12 and <br />the City of Centerville in connection with the tennis court <br />construction in Centerville. John Peterson made a motion <br />to submit formal agreement to school district for their approval. <br />Elmer Murray seconded it. motion carried. Agreement would be <br />taken up at the School Board meeting on Thursday, October 13 <br />and Elmer Murray will represent Centerville. <br /> <br />The clerk read the following bids on the tennis court construction <br />project: <br />Century Fence - Fence & Nets - $4,486.00 <br />Crowley Fence - Fence & Nets - $4,350.00 <br />United Asphalt - Excavation, bituminous and laykold - $9,198. <br />Action Courts - 1aykold - $2,015.00 <br />H & S Asphalt - Excavation, bituminous and laykold - $10.200. <br />T. A. Schiefsky & Sons - Excavation & bituminous - $9,900. <br /> <br />Leon L'Allier made a motion to accept bid of United Asphalt on <br />Unit A(excavation, bituminous and laykold), Crowley Fence on <br />Unit B(fence and nets), John Peterson seconded it, motion carried. <br />Engineer Walt Williams is to contact United Asphalt to inquire <br />about putting on the laykold and to draw up contract between each <br />contractor and ~ity and have them submitted to clerk. <br /> <br />The petition submitted by Mr. Floyd Laska of Mound Trail for a <br />light in front yard to be taken over by the City was discussed. <br />Elmer Murray made a motion to deny petition request, Leon L'Allier <br />seconded it, motion carried. Consensus of council was that light <br />only benefits his and the adjoining property and further, it is <br />not situated at an intersection. Clerk will advise Mr. Laska. <br /> <br />Mr. Arthur Raudio representing R & 0 Sales appeared before council <br />with request for continuance on the Center Oaks preliminary plat <br />until the November 9 meeting of council. He advised council that <br />they had met with City attorney and abstracts on the Center Oaks <br />property were to be searched. development contract and escrow <br />bonds were being drawn up. Elmer Murray made a motion to grant <br />the Center Oaks project an extension until November 9. Fran Burque <br />seconded it, motion carried. <br /> <br />~ <br />
