<br />Meeting Minutes - CC <br />page two <br />October 9, 1991 <br /> <br />the proposed building by scrimping on the land. <br />-The cost of the land was financially feasible. <br />-The City has need for Public Works facilities and City <br />offices and the Almendinger site could accommodate all <br />in the future. <br />-The City is now receiving approximately $1.00 for every <br />$3.00 that they are putting into the Tax Increment <br />Financing plans and that if the City did not spend the <br />money on appropriate projects that money would have to <br />be returned. <br /> <br />Mayor Buckbee offered some of the following comments: <br />-The Almendinger site would be an asset to the City, but <br />there is a lot of give and take with the Fire <br />Department. <br />-If the City were to chose the Almendinger site the City <br />would be spending a lot of money. <br />-The Fire Department would need to recognize the give and <br />take on both sides. <br />-There may be some sharing with regard to the site. <br />-It does not appear that the purchase of the land would <br />create a strain on the City finances. <br /> <br />Mike Davis, 7156 Brian Drive, made comments and asked questions. <br /> <br />Motion by Buckbee, second by Burgstahler to advise Russell <br />Almendinger that the City would offer $75,000.00 for <br />the approximately 4.5 acre site, south of the Main <br />Street/Shad Avenue intersection and north of Clear <br />Water Creek, to include the payable green acres and <br />future payments for the 1977 Sanitary Sewer Assessment <br />and any pending Flood Plain Assessments which would be <br />applicable to the site; <br />-the appropriate officials are authorized to enter into a <br />contract for purchase of the Almendinger site for the <br />above cost and for the appropriate earnest money; <br />Aye - Buckbee; Aye - Burgstahler; Aye - Pelton; Nay - Dario; Nay <br />- Wilharber, motion carried. <br /> <br />Lake Sanitation Request for Increase in Monthly Fee <br />Mary Ayde from Lake Sanitation was available to request an <br />increase in the monthly billing to the Centerville residents for <br />$1.00 per month. Ms. Ayde advised that the Anoka County contract <br />with the waste haulers has a 6% increase. Ms. Ayde advised that <br />she would like the increase to be retroactive to August 1, 1991 <br />would be a separate line item on the next appropriate garbage <br />billing. <br /> <br />Mayor Buckbee questioned whether bar coding would assist in <br />
