CITY COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES
SEPTEMBER 25J 1991
PAGE THREE

Police Liaison Henderson stated that the Circle Pines/Lexington
Police Department did an excellent job in apprehending the
individuals involved in the break-ins at Trippelrs Market. Mr.
Henderson also expressed that the police department has put the
word out that this type of activity will not be tolerated.

Mayor Buckbee noted that there has been concern expressed about
the number of calls to the Waterworks Bar.

Sergeant Makela noted that the Waterworks Bar does attract a
larger number of people and that there has been a meeting with
the City, Police Department and the owner of Waterworks Bar to
discuss the number of calls to the bar.

Mayor Buckbee questioned if the owner could help in controlling
and reducing the number of calls.

Sergeant Makela noted that the owner is trying to control and
reduce the number of calls. He has hired off duty officers for
Sundays nights. The bouncers are checking the parking lot more
often. Sergeant Makela noted these are all positive trends to
controlling and reducing the number of calls.

Council member Dario noted that earlier this year a group met to
discuss the problems of persons fishing along Main Street near
the Waterworks Bar. One of the recommendations was to install a
fishing pier.

Mayor Buckbee asked Mr.
City Council receive a
Mr. Henderson noted
Clerk/Administrator.

Henderson that in the future that the
reasonable notice to be on the agenda.
that he will speak with the

OLD BUSINESS

Lake Sanitation - ProDosed Increase in Monthly Bil1in~s
Mary Ayde, Lake Sanitation, was present to request that the City
Council approve a $1.00 per month per household increase. Ms.
Ayde noted that the request for the increase is based on the
Anoka County Board increasing the tip fee at the Elk River
Facility by 10% effective August 1, 1991. The increase is from
$69.77 to $77.00 per ton. Ms. Ayde estimated that the average
household generates 1.5 tons per year. This would amount to an
approximate $.90 increase per household per month. The
additional $.10 increase is to cover the increase in the sales
tax to 6 1/2%.

Mayor Buckbee questioned Ms. Ayde what landfills Lake Sanitation
utilized.
