<br />May 9, 2001 <br />Council Meeting Minutes <br /> <br />Council Member Broussard Vickers stated that if Park Dedication Fees were used for the <br />project, the Committee would be unable to accomplish their goals for the year. <br /> <br />Mayor Swedberg stated that previously Council met with the Committee to discuss goals <br />for the year 2001 and the Committee expressed that their two (2) priorities were to <br />provide electrical services at Laurie LaMotte Memorial Park and the Wheels Park. <br />Consensus of the Committee was to use Park Dedication Fees for these projects. <br /> <br />Council Member Broussard Vickers stated that it was her understanding from that same <br />meeting, that the Committee did not want to expend Park Dedications Fees for the <br />electrical services due to the fact that numerous community events take place in the park. <br /> <br />Council Member Travis concurred with Council Member Broussard Vickers but added <br />that the Committee determined that they had an ample amount of money in their budget <br />to cover same. <br /> <br />Council Member Capra stated that Council anticipated that the Parks and Recreation <br />Committee would request additional funds for other projects at the time Council made <br />their decision to expend funds from the Park Dedication Funds. <br /> <br />Council Member Broussard Vickers stated that she was unsure whether the Committee <br />had enough money to fund its current projects. <br /> <br />Council Member Broussard Vickers stated that she desired Council to consider requests <br />for future funding form the Parks and Recreation Committee. Consensus was to consider <br />future requests from the Parks and Recreation Committee. <br /> <br />IX. NEW BUSINESS <br /> <br />1. Bald Eagle Ski Jump <br /> <br />This item was previously considered. <br /> <br />2. Planning Intern <br /> <br />Mayor Swedberg suggested that due to Mr. March's absence, this item be tabled. <br /> <br />Council Member Broussard Vickers stated that if Council considered this item this <br />evening, rather than waiting, which would expedite the process. <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Broussard Vickers. seconded by Council Member <br />Travis to authorize the hirine of a Plan nine: Intern as recommended bv Mr. March. <br />All in favor. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />3. 21st Avenue Feasibility Study <br /> <br />Mayor Swedberg expressed surprise and concern for the request received from the City <br />of Lino Lakes to share in the costs associated with the reconstruction of 21 st Avenue. <br /> <br />Page 5 of9 <br />
