<br />City of Centerville <br />Council Meeting Minutes <br />January 8, 2003 <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Capra, seconded by Council Member Paar to approve <br />Resolution #03-006 Amendinl! Resolution #02-060 c1arifyinl! the portion of Goiffon <br />Road to be vacated. All in favor. Motion carried unanimouslv. <br /> <br />10. Parks and Recreation Request <br /> <br />Council Member Broussard-Vickers indicated she had asked Mr. Palzer to make a list of <br />the top items that needed to be done from the maintenance budget so the Park and <br />Recreation Committee could plan their budget. She is bringing this before the Council <br />because she is asking for staff time to accomplish this. <br /> <br />Mayor Sweeney stated that when he was previously on Council they worked to get funds <br />for the parks. He knows the park department struggles with getting land because they <br />don't have money from the City. He would like to direct staff to look at the budget and <br />provide information to the Council on providing money to the Park and Recreation <br />Committee. He stated they previously gave them $50,000 to be put in an enterprise fund. <br /> <br />Council Member Broussard-Vickers stated the Council could not authorize the <br />Committee to spend money. She stated last year was unique, and she'd like to look at <br />having IIF resolved first. Council Member Lee agreed. <br /> <br />Council Member Capra indicated the City had spent $100,000 on Lamont Park the <br />previous year. Mayor Sweeney stated that was mainly electrical work and a trail. <br />Council Member Capra stated it was still park improvements. <br /> <br />Council Member Broussard-Vickers asked that Mr. Palzer put together the information <br />for the next Council meeting or the following at the latest. Mayor Sweeney stated they <br />would need to have something done and decisions made by February or it would be too <br />late for this year's budget. He stated if a workshop was necessary for the budget he <br />would agree. <br /> <br />Council Member Capra asked if a work session should be scheduled for January 29th. <br />Mayor Sweeney indicated he didn't want to schedule any work sessions now. <br /> <br />Council Member Broussard-Vickers stated that half the budget could be done in February <br />and half in March. <br /> <br />X. UPDATES (cont.) <br /> <br />1. Capital Proiects (Update) <br /> <br />City Attorney Hoeft indicated they have serviced everyone, some have been granted <br />extensions and others have responded. He stated meetings have been set-up to determine <br />where the disagreement is on numbers. He added everyone has been civil. <br /> <br />4.
