<br />City of Centerville <br />Council Meeting Minutes <br />January 8, 2003 <br /> <br />Council Member Capra stated she liked the list staff had put together, and added <br />additional areas of focus should be: <br /> <br />. Street issues - this had been important for the previous Council. <br /> <br />Council Member Capra indicated they had wanted to do a street repair fund much like the <br />water tower fund. She stated the County Road 14 plans for 2006 would require some <br />Centerville funds. Council Member Broussard-Vickers stated that may not take place in <br />2006. <br /> <br />Council Member Capra stated that she has been told MN-DOT will be more <br />accommodating if a City has a plan rather than those cities that just say they do not want <br />the road. <br /> <br />. A four page newsletter to residents. <br />. Look at a folding machine for utility bills, which are currently handled by <br />staff. Would save on man-hours. <br /> <br />Council Member Lee stated his areas of focus would be: <br /> <br />. County Road 14 - City needs to have a plan. <br />. Water tower <br /> <br />Council Member Capra stated Centerville had an agreement with Lino Lakes to build a <br />new water tower by 2005 or 2006. Mr. Palzer stated that along with the water tower they <br />would need to redevelop or re-drill a new well. <br /> <br />Council Member Capra stated that the city purchased the current water tower used and <br />there may be another opportunity to do. <br /> <br />. Parks and Recreation <br /> <br />Council Member Lee stated he feels the need for a community center is great. The <br />children in the community are getting older and they need guidance. He added that <br />growing up the community center in his area was the safe haven, where everyone could <br />play constructively. He indicated it is very cost effective when you consider police hours <br />and bored teenagers. He thought the Lion's had money available. <br /> <br />. Dredging ponds <br />. Trail completions, finishing the loop <br /> <br />Council Member Capra stated that Mr. LaBlanc had spoken with Father Fitzgerald and he <br />had suggested running the trail by the lake. <br /> <br />Council Member Paar stated that his areas of focus would be: <br /> <br />Page 18 of20 <br />
