<br />City of Centerville <br />March 27, 2002 <br />Council Minutes <br /> <br />4. Employment Policies <br /> <br />Ms. Moore-Sykes indicated that with all the activities going on at City Hall she had <br />looked at the. employment policy but had not started to incorporate any ideas into it. She <br />then indicated she had spoken to the auditor and he is in support of it. <br /> <br />VIII. NEW BUSINESS <br /> <br />1. Centerville Polling Location for the 2002 Elections (Centerville Elementary) <br /> <br />Ms. Moore-Sykes indicated the Clerk had requested that Council consider moving the <br />polling location to the school because City Hall is not large enough to support a polling <br />location. <br /> <br />Council Member Capra asked Staff to contact the principal of the school to determine <br />whether there would be any issues concerning safety or security because the person <br />contacted by Staff is the facility use coordinator not the principal. <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Broussard Vickers. seconded by Mayor Swedbere to <br />approve movine the Centerville llolline location to the Centerville Elementary <br />School pendine approval by the school. All in favor. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />2. Earth Day Promotional Items (Update) <br /> <br />Ms. Moore-Sykes indicated the City had received a memo from Peggy Baumann <br />requesting that the City donate $537.50 of its SCORE Grant for earth day events, <br /> <br />Council Member Broussard Vickers asked if there were funds available. <br /> <br />Ms. Moore-Sykes indicated the City had received $15,000 from the County for recycling <br />programs. <br /> <br />Council Member Capra asked Staff to determine where Ms. Baumann is from and <br />whether or not the funds would be used for the Wargo Nature Center Earth Day program. <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Broussard Vickers. seconded by Council Member <br />Travis to approve an amount up to 5600.00 to the facilitators of earth day to be used <br />for the promotion of earth day activities for the benefit of Centerville. <br /> <br />Council Member Capra suggested a friendly amendment to require that the funds be <br />spent on earth day promotion for the benefit of the community of Centerville. <br /> <br />Ms. Moore-Sykes indicated she would look into the matter. <br /> <br />All in favor.
