<br />City of Centerville <br />March 27, 2002 <br />Council Minutes <br /> <br />IX. CONSENT AGENDA <br /> <br />1. The City ofCenterville March 14,2002 through March 27, 2002 Expenditures. <br />2. Centennial Fire District Expenditures <br />3. Resolution #02-008 (Lift Station #1 Renovation) <br />4. Citizen/Business of the Year <br /> <br />Council indicated that the citizen of the year is Jerry Helmbrecht and the business of the <br />year is Craig Bode from Main Street Bank. <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Broussard Vickers. seconded by Council Member <br />Nelson to approve the Consent Aeenda as presented. All in favor. Motion carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />X. COMMITTEE REPORTS <br /> <br />Council Member Broussard Vickers reported that the Parks and Recreation Commission <br />had received information that the County had received funding for widening County <br />Road 14 to four lanes from 35W to 35E and is scheduled to begin construction in 2005 or <br />2006. <br /> <br />Mayor Swedberg indicated the City would be discussing the matter with the County. <br /> <br />Mayor Swedberg asked Ms. Moore-Sykes to write a letter to County Commissioner <br />Langfeld to request further information on the project. <br /> <br />Council Member Capra indicated the Cable Commission did not meet due to lack of a <br />quorum. <br /> <br />Ms. Moore-Sykes indicated that the Economic Development Commission had asked if <br />there was money or grants available for water downtown. <br /> <br />Council Member Capra indicated she had told them there was no money in the budget but <br />said Council would be reviewing the matter in August during budget negotiations. She <br />then indicated the Commission would like to pursue the option of grants because the <br />Commission feels water downtown would greatly increase the business opportunities. <br /> <br />Council Member Capra indicated that the Commission discussed having its business <br />appreciation dinner on May 21,2002. <br /> <br />Council Member Capra reported that the Commission discussed volunteer appreciation <br />day and wants to keep the business appreciation dinner separate. <br /> <br />Page 15 of 18 <br />
