Surface Water Management Plan <br /> <br />Ms. Moore-Sykes indicated Staff was working on the numbers and hoped to get them to <br />the consultant at the end of the week for consideration. <br /> <br />2. County 14 W,atermain F.-rtension <br /> <br />Mr. Peterson indicated he bad spoken to Mr. DeFoe concerning the assessment amount <br />and Mr. DeFoe bad indicated that, if he keeps Water Works in operation, there would be <br />no way to get eight lots out of the parcel due to the parking requirements for the business. <br />He then commented that he bad provided another type of funding scenario for <br />consideration whereby DeFoe is charged for 10 lots, the developer is charged for 10 lots, <br />and there are 10 residential lots for a total of 30 lots divided by the total costs which <br />amounts to $5,400 per lot. <br /> <br />Council Member Nelson asked if thelO lots included Water Works. Mr. Peterson <br />explained that the Water Works amount dropped because the 10 lots was for the entire <br />parcel <br /> <br />Mr. Rehbein indicated he felt the new proposal was reasonable. He then commented that <br />his first hope was that the City would decide not to extend the watermain, but he feels the <br />$5,400 per lot is more reasonable. <br /> <br />Mr. Peterson reminded Council that it had approved the feasibility study and tabled <br />moving on with preparations for the project and noted that to continue on at this point <br />Council would need to authorize the preparation of plans and specifications. <br /> <br />" <br /> <br />Ms. Sharon Zimney of 7252 Lavelle Drive indicated that she was concerned that the road <br />would be dug up to extend water and commented that she felt $10,000 was way too much <br />money to replace a perfectly good well <br /> <br />Council Member Capra clarified that residents are not required to hook up to City water <br />until their well tails. She also explained that the road would not be tom up to extend the <br />watermain. <br /> <br />Page 8 of25 <br />
