<br /> <br />Economic Development <br />ComlDlttee news <br /> <br />The Economic Development Com- <br />mittee (EDC) is sponsoring the following <br />activities as part of the on-going work of <br />the Star City Program: <br />I Welcome Neighbor Program <br />This is a new program developed by <br />EDC to deliver information packets to <br />new residents about the community and <br />local businesses. It will run on a trial <br />basis and then be evaluated. Many thanks <br />go to committee members Mary Capra <br />for her research and successful presenta- <br />tion to City Council for approval. <br />Business Appreciation Day <br />Local business owners will be <br />invited to a special reception on May 20. <br />We encourage residents to remember to <br />personally thank the businesses they <br />patronize for being an important part of <br />our community. <br /> <br />Public Beanng for <br /> <br />Downtown Revitalization <br />EDC will hold a public hearing June <br />17 at City Hall, beginning at 7 p.m. <br />Property owners in the downtown area <br />will be notified by mail. All others are <br />welcome to attend. If you have a vision <br />for downtown or concerns about any <br />improvements, we want to hear about it! <br /> <br />Attention Business Owners: <br />The City would like to see area <br />businesses advertise to the residents <br />of Centerville. If you would like to <br />advertise in the citywide newsletter <br />please call Ry-Chel at City Hall: <br />429-3232. <br /> <br />Sewer backed up? <br />Call the Public Works Department at <br />429-4750 so the sewer main can be checked <br />for blockage. After 4 p.m. and on weekend <br />contact Anoka County Dispatch at 427-1212. <br />Street maintenance work <br />This summer the City will be making <br />street repairs. Please cooperate with all <br />temporary restrictions so that the work can be <br />completed in a timely manner. <br />Stream bank stabilization <br /> <br />Rice Creek Watershed District will <br />match up to 50 percent of improvement <br />costs. Details and application can be ob- <br />tained at Rice Creek Watershed District.
