<br />City Council Meeting Minutes <br />August 26, 1992 <br />page three <br /> <br />Director is hired by the City of Centerville. <br /> <br />Motion by Buckbee, second by Burgstahler to request that <br />Centennial Fire District Chief Milo Bennett assist the City of <br />Centerville in the sale of the 1974 Dodge Van and that the City <br />of Centerville shall retain ownership of the 1969 Ford Tanker, <br />motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />OLD BUSINESS <br /> <br />Municipal Buildin~ Bids <br />Randy Bosch of Gilbert Construction was present to go over the <br />bids received on Monday, August 24, 1992 for the Municipal <br />Building. The total dollar amount of the bids was $280,084.00. <br />This is approximately $5,000.00 under budget. <br /> <br />Motion by Buckbee, second by Wilharber to accept and award the <br />bids received on August 24, 1992 as recommended by Gilbert <br />Construction in their letter dated August 26, 1992 regarding <br />"Fire Station and Municipal Building Sub Contractor Bids" <br />including the recommendation to direct Vas on Plumbing Inc. and <br />A.G.A. listed under mechanical, motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Howard Bohanon/Gordon Jensen - Mill Road/Havfield Road Drainsae <br />Issue <br />Gordon Jensen, Attorney for Howard Bohanon, appeared before the <br />City Council to make a formal request for the return of $2,300.00 <br />being held in escrow by the City of Centerville until <br />satisfactory drainage can be accomplished between Lot 1, Block 3 <br />Peterson Old Homestead Addition and Lot 1, Block 4 Centerville <br />Heights. Mr. Jensen appeared to feel that a satisfactory <br />solution has already been accomplished and the objective of <br />proper drainage has been met. He advised that Mr. Bohanon has <br />scraped off black dirt from the Nelson property on Lot 1, Block 3 <br />Peterson Old Homestead Addition to make the correction and then <br />replaced the same black dirt onto the property. He advised Mr. <br />Bohanon never intended to bring in fill so the water would drain <br />out to the north. He advised that the Lien's own the property at <br />Lot 1, Block 4 Centerville Heights. They would like the grading <br />to stay as it is and feel there is no problem. They advised that <br />they do not have a problem with water from the Nelson's property <br />draining over the rear of their property. <br /> <br />Mr. Bohanon advised that Ms. Nelson originally had water standing <br />in her yard and now all of her lot is usable to the lot line. <br /> <br />John Stewart, City Engineer, was at the meeting and was asked to <br />issue an opinion on the project. Mr. Stewart advised that he has <br />not previously provided a proposal to Mr. Bohanon as to how to <br />correct the grading. He noted that the issue is how long the <br />
