<br />City Council Meeting Minutes <br />August 12, 1992 <br />page two <br /> <br />MINUTES <br /> <br />Motion by Dario, second by Wilharber to approve the June 24, 1992 <br />City Council meeting minutes, motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Motion by Wilharber, second by Dario to approve the July 8, 1992 <br />City Council meeting minutes, motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Motion by Dario, second by Wilharber to approve the July 15, 1992 <br />Special Work Session Council meeting minutes, motion carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />Motion by Wilharber, second by Dario to table the approval of the <br />July 22, 1992 City Council meeting minutes and the July 30, 1992 <br />Emergency Meeting City Council meeting minutes, due to lack of <br />quorum to approve said minutes, motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />OLD BUSINESS <br /> <br />Mound Trail ImDrovement/Street ReDair and Maintenance <br />Mark Graham, City Engineer, presented a letter to the City <br />Council dated July 31, 1992 regarding 1993 Street <br />Maintenance/Improvement Projects. Mr. Graham advised that the <br />cost estimates in the letter do not include the Peltier Lake <br />Drive maintenance area near Peltier Circle. He noted that the <br />letter was written with spring 1993 bids in mind. He noted that <br />maybe the City Council can do the project yet this year, but <br />patching and overlay prior to the end of the season would be <br />pushing it. He noted there would be detioration over a season <br />and the City Council would see a difference but the areas would <br />be passable and plowable. <br /> <br />A copy of above mentioned letter <br />Clerk/Administrator. <br /> <br />is on <br /> <br />file with the <br /> <br />Council member Wilharber advised he supported the overlay and/or <br />seal coat of Mound Trail except for the western 650 feet which <br />requires reconstruction. He noted he does recognize there are <br />five empty lots in Centerville that this street would serve. He <br />noted in order to bring down the level of water in the slew area <br />the City would have to obtain Department of Natural Resources and <br />Rice Creek Watershed District permission. He noted the City's <br />limited funds for the project and he would like to look towards <br />the future. He noted the City has approximately $70,000.00 <br />available in 1992 for maintenance. This took awhile to build up <br />and that the City Council is responsible to protect all City <br />streets so that there are limited future reconstruction costs. <br />He appeared to feel that if the City were to overlay the west 650 <br />feet of Mound Trail versus reconstruction, within the next few <br />years the road would break up again and come back to haunt the <br />
