If an employee must work on a designated paid holiday, he/she shall receive "time off" equal to the average number of hours worked per day in the preceding year versus monetary compensation, not to exceed eight (8) hours per day. The "time off" shall be taken within 12 months of the date of the paid holiday or the employee shall forfeit such "time off". When the paid holidays fall on Sunday, the following Monday is a paid holiday, and if such day falls on Saturday the preceding Friday (Thursday) is a holiday. Section 20: NOW READS: Penalty.
