CITY COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES
DECEMBER 9, 1992
PAGE FIVE

Sons, Inc. agreeing to pay all costs of labor for the repair of
Municipal Well #2 in the case that it goes down during the 60 day
extended period. The motion was seconded by Tom Wilharber and
upon vote unanimously approved.

City Engineer Stewart further indicated that, due to Anoka
County.s abandonment of 27 wells, 12 of which are artisan wells,
the ambient level of ground water has risen from 12 feet to 7
seven feet. Due to this rise in the water level, ground water
could come above the top of the well stand pipe. This occurrence
is not allowable by health standards and can be rectified by
installing a flowing well spool. This installation would cost
somewhere between $350.00 to $750.00 in additional costs.

Motion was made by Mayor Buckbee to authorize the installation of
a flowing well spool to Municipal Well #2 for a cost not to
exceed $750.00. Motion was seconded by Council member Pelton and
upon vote unanimously approved.

ADDITIONAL ITEM 1C ACORN CREEK UPDATE.

City Engineer Stewart indicated that the Acorn Creek sewer line
will be completed in approximately three days.

7A. REQUEST FOR VARIANCE TO BUILD AN OVERSIZED GARAGE AT 7169
WEST ROBIN LANE.

Mayor Buckbee re-introduced the variance request and asked for
City Council comment.

Council member Dario stated that, due to the large garages on
both sides of this property, he recommended that the City approve
the proposed garage, at 7169 West Robin Lane, but not allow
construction of any other garages of this size in the future.

Council member Wilharber stated that it appears there was an
oversight by the Building Inspector on two building permits for
oversized garages which were issued after review by the
Inspector. These should not be considered a precedent for the
issuance of future permits. Council member Wilharber expressed
that he had a problem with the requested size of the garage at
7169 West Robin Lane.

Mr. Curtis Burn indicated that another person on Cardinal Drive
received a permit for an oversized garage in October after he
made application for this variance.

Council member Pelton recommended that the City staff request a

reply from the City Building Inspector,

Gunnar Pettersen,
