<br />~ <br /> <br />City Council Meeting Minutes <br />February 12, 1992 <br />page two <br /> <br />The National Multiple Sclerosis Society is requesting permission <br />to operate pull-tabs in Kelly's Korner at the intersection of <br />Main Street and Centerville Road. She noted that there would be <br />no set-ups behind the bar and that the pull-tabs would be in a <br />separate area. She noted that the National Multiple Sclerosis <br />Society operates pull-tabs in approximately 113 sites in <br />Minnesota. Ms. Deziel noted that the high taxes being <br />implemented by the State on pull-tabs are forcing many <br />organizations away from pull-tabs. <br /> <br />OLD BUSINESS <br /> <br />Munici~al Well <br />John Stewart, City Engineer, was present at the meeting to <br />address the proposed second municipal well. Mr. Stewart <br />presented a letter regarding the extension of water to the <br />Municipal Facility and construction of a second well and pump <br />house, dated February 4, 1992. A copy of this letter is on file <br />with the Clerk/Administrator. <br /> <br />Mr. Stewart addressed <br />constructing a second <br />Centerville. <br /> <br />the need for and <br />municipal well <br /> <br />cost associated with <br />to serve the City of <br /> <br />Motion by Burgstahler, second by Pelton to direct Maier, Stewart <br />and Associates to prepare Plans and Specifications for a second <br />City well, pump house and necessary municipal water extension to <br />include drilling a pilot test well for a cost not to exceed that <br />outlined in Schedule A of the "Agreement for Professional <br />Engineering Services" between the City of Centerville and Maier, <br />Stewart and Associates, Inc. (if the project cost is $250,000, <br />the engineering cost would be 7.81% of the project cost or <br />$19,525.00), motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Motion by Burgstahler, second by Pelton to direct City Staff and <br />Council member Burgstahler shall discuss an appropriate finance <br />plan for the second municipal well before the bidding process is <br />addressed, motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />509 Plan <br />John Stewart, City Engineer, was available to address the need <br />for the City of Centerville to comply with the Rice Creek Water <br />Shed requirement updating the Centerville Storm Drainage Master <br />Plan by including additional information. Mr. Stewart noted that <br />the deadline for the completion of the project is October 1992. <br />He advised that the project would take approximately five months <br />and could be completed for a cost not to exceed $5,000.00. <br /> <br />Motion by Buckbee, second by Pelton to direct Maier, Stewart and <br />
